 ARRERNTE CUSTODIANS AND LOCAL RESIDENTS OF MPARNTWE/ALICE SPRINGS INVITE YOU TO COME AND PARTICIPATE IN THREE DAYS OF WORKSHOPS, DISCUSSION, CONNECTING AND PEACEFUL PROTEST IN JULY 2026.

WE ARE COMING TOGETHER TO SAY CLOSE PINE GAP, END THE US ALLIANCE, AND SACRED LAND BACK.

What is it?
Three days of workshops, discussion and peaceful protest from 18-20 July.

We will be discussing local and national issues impacting First Nations people in the Northern Territory and hearing about their ongoing struggles for justice.

We will also be discussing how to break Australia’s ties to the genocidal US war machine and Pine Gap’s direct involvement in the maintenance of US imperialism.


When is it?
The event has three full days of scheduled activities on the 18-20 July.

Accommodation and meals are provided from the evening of Friday 17 July which is when we suggest you arrive.

Where is it?
The convergence will happen on unceded Arrernte country, close to the town of Mparntwe/ Alice Springs. 

Accommodation
We will camp together for four nights nights: 17, 18, 19 and 20 July.
 
If you are unable or do not wish to camp please email us as alternative accommodation is available.

Meals

All meals are provided for the duration of 18-20 July plus dinner on 17 July and breakfast on 21 July. When you register for a ticket, we will ask you for your dietary requirements.

We will also be close to town so there is access to supermarkets.

Transport
Transport is available for people who attend by plane. We will do airport pickups and there will be some shuttle buses servicing the event. When you register for a ticket please indicate if you are attending by plane and monitor your email inbox as we might try and contact you to confirm which flight you are arriving on.

What to bring?

Central Australia is a semi-arid environment and temperatures can drop below zero at night during winter: bring warm clothes!

Camping equipment is not provided. Please bring your own.

Accessibility
We are aiming to make our event as accessible as possible, please contact us if you have specific access requirements.


Our campsite and workshop venue have wheelchair accessible toilets and showers.

Children

All children are free to attend, however please register a ‘pay as you are able’ ticket for each child for catering and transport purposes.

Childcare will be available between 9am to 5pm at the workshop venue on the days when workshops are scheduled.

Volunteering
This is an entirely volunteer run event which is why we are able to provide tickets at a low cost. It is expected that everyone attending the event will sign up for  some volunteer shifts to help make the event run.
